Power LED. This LED is lit when the firewall is connected to a power outlet and switched on.
ALERT. The ALERT LED indicates that something prevents the firewall from working correctly. Firewall states are indicated thus:
The LED is continuously lit.
Indicates one of the following states:
The firewall boots.
The firewall applies a new configuration.
The firewall warns about a minor error which affects the network traffic.
The LED blinks.
Indicates one of the following states:
The firewall checks (during boot) if the FD button is pressed.
The firewall warns about a major error, e.g. a hardware error.
The LED double blinks (two blinks followed by a short pause).
The firewall waits for configuration through the installation program or magic ping. See also chapter 3, Installing Ingate Firewall.
If the firewall indicates an error, you will find an error message when you log on the configuration interface. At the top of each administration web page there will be a link to a page where you find an explanation of the error.
Link LEDs. There are link LEDs, one for each port. A steadily shining LED indicates that the port is connected to a network. A blinking LED indicates activity on the port.
10/100 MBit LEDs. The 10/100 MBit LEDs indicate what kind of network the port is connected to. A lit LED indicates that a 100 MBit network is connected.
