Try SIP at Ingate

Now it is easy to try how SIP works. Ingate offers you the possibility to, free of charge, register on the trysip.ingate.com domain, which enables you to make calls, receive calls and chat using SIP. You can also call us at sales@ingate.com

Clients situated behind NAT devices can recieve and send SIP based messages thanks to the Ingate add on module "Remote SIP Connectivity". Read more about the Remote SIP Connectivity module.

The trysip.ingate.com domain is handled by an Ingate Firewall 1200.

Register at trysip.ingate.com

It is easy to register on a SIP server, but you need a SIP client, for example Windows Messenger (not MSN Messenger), X-Lite or a SNOM phone. How to register using Windows Messenger. How to register using X-Lite.

To communicate via SIP you need a client. This can be a software client that you run on your computer or a special SIP phone. Please find links to some SIP software clients below.

How to register using Windows Messenger

• Start Windows Messenger. You will find it either as an icon on the menu bar at the bottom of your screen (two schematic bodies) or as an icon in your Internet Explorer.
• You are now asked to select service. Select SIP Communications Service. Say no to .NET Passport if you are not using it with any other server.
• Then enter a login name. It should look like an e-mail address: bosse@trysip.ingate.com.
• Press the Advanced button. A new window will open, where you choose Automatic configuration and press OK.
• Now your SIP configuration is finished. Press OK again.
• When you want to log in with your SIP user, use the link with the login name. No password is needed.

How to register using X-Lite 3.0

• Download and install X-Lite.
• Start X-Lite.
• You will now see a window shaped like a PDA and a window called SIP Accounts. Press the Add button to add a new SIP account.
• Enter the following settings:
  • Display Name - your name
  • User name - your selected username
  • Domain - trysip.ingate.com
• Press OK. The X-Lite client should now try to register at trysip.ingate.com.
• You call other SIP users by pressing the screen and entering their SIP name on your keyboard.
