Release notice for Ingate SIParator(R)/Firewall(R) 6.2.1

Release name: Ingate SIParator(R)/Firewall(R) 6.2.1
Release date: February 13, 2019

The new version and documentation can be found at:
https://account.ingate.com/

This is a minor release with new features and enhancements.
We recommend everyone to upgrade.

THE NEW FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES ARE:

* Audio Media G.729 and G.722 Transcoding Added
Since patent rights have elapsed, audio codec transcoding has been
added free of charge to all Ingate SIParators with the new 6.2.1 software.
If enabled, the maximum transcoding sessions for PCMA/PCMU to and
from G729/G722 have been measured to:
SIParator S21 (Serial number starting with IG-095): 60
SIParator S95 (Serial number starting with IG-954): 700
SIParator S98 (Serial number starting with IG-981): 1800

Adding CPUs with more cores and higher frequency allows for more
transcoded concurrent calls.

* Call Control REST API in the Dial Plan
This Call Control API allows integration with external web services
during call processing. The Ingate SIParator can now fetch information
via REST API calls (HTTP or HTTPS GET commands), while processing the
Dial Plan and the returned information is used to modify the SIP requests
being processed.

This allows for enhanced routing capabilities to applications such as:
 * Routing based on number portability.
 * Least-cost routing
 * No Call compliance
 * Call capacity per DNIS for inbound campaigns in call centers

An additional benefit of this Call Control REST API, which takes
the information in text, JSON and XML formats, is that dynamic information
that may affect or require changes in the configuration can easily be
handed over to queries to an external application database,
reducing risks of affecting operations.

* HTTP REST API for Configuring and Managing the SIParator/Firewall and SBC
This added configuration REST API - which also includes upgrades,
licenses and patches - allows service providers to configure,
provision and perform other management tasks from external applications
via HTTP requests.

The API can be accessed through Ansible and will most likely be included in
Ansible version 2.8. Ingate has written a suite of Ansible modules for users
to configure and maintain the Ingate SBC via Ansible Playbooks.
Ingate also provides the cli2python utility, which can be used to generate
an Ansible Playbook from an Ingate CLI file.

This configuration REST API can also be accessed through cURL and
the Ingate Python SDK.
