Mission

Ingate is a company dedicated to producing firewalls and SIParators that enable business of all sizes to utilize SIP-based IP communications such as presence, instant messaging, video/audio conferencing and IP telephony.

Heritage

Ingate is a joint venture between Cendio Systems AB, an open source consultancy and producer of firewalls for the Scandinavian market since 1997, and Intertex AB, a successful provider of communications and security technology to the European market since 1982. In 2001, Intertex developed the IX66, a SIP-aware firewall for the SOHO market that is available in Europe and North America. Ingate Systems was spun-off from Intertex and Cendio in June 2001 to develop SIP-capable firewalls for the enterprise market.

Technology

Ingate’s products combine SIP-capability with proven firewall technology to enable businesses to utilize the latest in SIP communications from a secure private LAN. SIP is the IETF signaling protocol for Internet presence, instant messaging, VOIP and audio/video conferencing that is becoming the universal protocol for providers of IP-based communications.

Only a SIP-capable firewall will allow the usage of SIP-based communications. Ingate Systems produces the world’s first SIP-capable enterprise firewalls and SIParators.
