Ingate Launches New Software for Firewall and SIParator

Support for Dynamic DNS, PPTP Passthrough, VPN Module Included by Default and Optional QoS for the SIParator

SPRING VON, SAN JOSE, March 7, 2005- Ingate® Systems www.ingate.com, whose award-winning security products enable enterprises to solve the problem of letting Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) traverse their firewalls, announces today new software version 4.2.1, for Ingate Firewalls® and Ingate SIParators®. Version 4.2.1 boasts support for dynamic DNS, PPTP and incorporates a VPN module and several SIP and administrative improvements into its award-winning security products.

The Ingate products can now be configured to automatically update DNS names at DynDNS.org when the IP addresses change. Support for PPTP passthrough has also been added in this version.

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) module . which comes standard on every Ingate Firewall and SIParator . is also included. This means that all Ingate hardware products can enjoy VPN after upgrading to 4.2.1. The new software also makes it easier to configure IPSec tunnels when creating a VPN.

Additional improvements include increased functionality of the Ingate Remote SIP Connectivity module . the company.s far-end NAT traversal solution for remote access. The administration of the Web interface has also been improved.

Available with version 4.2.1 is the new module, Ingate VoIP Survival, an application module for hosted VoIP communications services that secures full redundancy in a SIP-based hosted PBX environment all the way out to the customer premises. Ingate VoIP Survival ensures continued communications service even if the hosted server goes offline due to connection failure or server malfunction. This increased availability means that downtime is minimized and service levels are enhanced.

Version 4.2.1 makes Ingate.s QoS (Quality of Service) module available for SIParators, making it possible to guarantee bandwidth for certain SIP traffic and prioritize SIP traffic for certain locations. The Ingate SIParator is a device that connects to an existing network firewall to seamlessly enable the traversal of SIP communications.
