Ingate Debuts New Software Version 4.3.1 for all Firewalls and SIParators

Support for Redundant Default Routers, VLAN, Encrypted RTP Media, RADIUS Billing and Improved Stateful Inspection

INTERNET TELEPHONY CONFERENCE & EXPO, LOS ANGELES -- October 24, 2005- Ingate® Systems (www.ingate.com), which develops firewall technology and products that enable SIP-based live communication for the enterprise while maintaining control and security at the network edge, debuts new software version 4.3.1 for all Ingate Firewall® and Ingate SIParator® products.

The software version 4.3.1 boasts support for redundant default routers, encrypted RTP media, RADIUS billing, VLAN and several SIP and administrative improvements into its award-winning security products.

"We always strive to give our customers what they need," said Olle Westerberg, Chief Executive Officer, Ingate Systems. "Our technology is unique for enabling and controlling SIP-based realtime communication for the enterprise. Ingate software is developed in close cooperation with our customers; together we have identified new features and benefits that will help maximize their use of Ingate's products."

The support for multiple redundant default routers delivers improved availability. Selected working routes are monitored continuously by the Ingate Firewall or SIParator. Should that route go down, a redundant service provider will be connected and used automatically.

To eliminate eavesdropping, this software version includes termination of encrypted RTP media streams as well as transcoding between unencrypted media streams and encrypted RTP media streams. These functionalities increase network security in a SIP environment.

Included in this software version is support for virtual LANs (VLANs) In the Ingate product graphical user interface (GUI), virtual LANs are defined by a physical interface and a VLAN tag. VLAN gives the administrator the flexibility to divide the LAN into different units.

RADIUS billing is also supported. The Ingate Firewall or SIParator sends information about when communication starts and ends to a RADIUS server, which can then be used for RADIUS billing.

Ingate software version 4.3.1 offers improved stateful inspection to meet requirements set by ICSA Labs®, a division of Cybertrust, Inc. ®. Handling of media streams has been optimized offering higher performance i.e. increased number of simultaneous calls and improved call setup time.

Version 4.3.1 will be available October 24. Ingate's customers may install this upgrade by visiting the Ingate Website at www.ingate.com/upgrades. The security administrator can configure the Firewall/SIParator to automatically detect future software updates available on the Internet.
