RACO Industries Chooses Ingate to VoIP-Enable Distributed Call Center

Resolving NAT Traversal for 15 Satellite Offices

VOICECON FALL, SAN FRANCISCO – August 21, 2006 Ingate® Systems (www.ingate.com), which develops firewall technology and products that enable SIP-based live communication for the enterprise while maintaining control and security at the network edge, announces that RACO Industries, LLC, a value-added reseller of barcoding and data collection equipment, has chosen to deploy Ingate Firewall® and Remote SIP Connectivity solutions in its distributed call center.

Using an Ingate Firewalls and Remote SIP Connectivity software module, RACO was able to SIP-enable an entire network – the main office and 15 individual satellite branches – with the addition of a single Ingate Firewall, and without having to replace the Network Address Translation (NAT) devices at every location. With Ingate, RACO VoIP-enabled 80 employees with an architecture that not only provided SIP capabilities throughout the enterprise, but was scalable to handle additional satellite offices as RACO’s needs changed.

Extending the SIP capabilities of RACO’s corporate network to the satellite offices was possible using Ingate Remote SIP Connectivity, which helped all of RACO’s voice data traverse the NAT devices already in place at each satellite location.

“Far-end NAT (network address translation) traversal was a big hurdle, especially since we were connecting different types of networks at the remote offices with the main network and with one another using SIP-based IP phones via the public Internet,” said Chris Francosky, director of Information Technology for RACO. “Ingate’s Firewall and Remote SIP Connectivity provided a seamless solution to get the SIP traffic through the existing equipment, and then provide help with each remote office to resolve NAT traversal issues.”

“Ingate is proud to provide the firewall/NAT traversal and remote connectivity solution to RACO,” said Steven Johnson, President, Ingate Systems. “RACO Industries’ application highlights our products’ ability to SIP-enable a distributed call center, and provide the framework for growth, with a single Ingate Firewall and our pay-as-you-grow pricing model.”
