Ingate Launches New Software for All Ingate Firewalls and SIParators

New features include added PPPoE support, increased support for application sharing and increased ease-of-use functionalities

Stockholm, September 17, 2003 - Ingate Systems (www.ingate.com), the leading supplier of SIP-capable enterprise firewalls, announces the launch of Ingate Firewall® 3.2.1 and Ingate SIParator® 3.2.1, new software versions for all of Ingate's Firewall and SIParator® products. The software is being released in concert with the Fall VON 2003 trade show in Boston.

The software boasts new and improved features such as added PPPoE support. It also streamlines SIP functionality by increasing ease-of-use and provides an additional level of security to users of Ingate's Firewall and SIParator® products.

As with all Ingate software, Ingate Firewall® and SIParator® 3.2.1 delivers full compatibility with Windows® Messenger, including white-boarding, application sharing and file transfer capabilities.

Ingate continues to further its position as a leader in developing SIP-based firewall technology with the continuous development and improvements of the SIP functionality in the Ingate software. Whether using an Ingate Firewall® or SIParator®, a device that seamlessly enables SIP within an existing infrastructure, customers will benefit from all new and cost-effective communications methods such as VoIP, instant messaging, presence and video.

New Support for PPPoE

Ingate's new software provides support for PPPoE. This allows customers to use Ingate products with all xDSL access suppliers.

New VPN Functionalities

The new software brings improvements to X.509 certificate handling. Now, both the MD5 and SHA-1 fingerprints of X.509 certificates are displayed with the new software. Previous versions allowed VPN products to only print the MD5 fingerprint; Ingate Firewall® 3.2.1 now make it possible to check certificates with either type of product.

Added Conveniences for Ease-of-Use

Ingate Firewall® and SIParator® 3.2.1 incorporate several new conveniences that make Ingate products easier than ever to use. For instance, it is now possible to use Ingate's renown GUI interface to reboot Ingate Firewalls and SIParators or restart the SIP module. All e-mail log messages can be erased via the serial console. Also, configurations can now be saved and loaded via Zmodem on the serial console.

Availability

Ingate Firewall® 3.2.1 and Ingate SIParator® 3.2.1 will be available Friday, September 19, 2003. Ingate's customers may install this upgrade at no charge by visiting the Ingate Website at www.ingate.com/upgrades/. The security administrator can configure the firewall to automatically detect future software updates available on the Internet.
